Representation of individuals who apply for permanent resident status (“green card”) on behalf of their spouse, fiancé, parents and children.
Representation of individuals applying for U.S. citizenship. The basic requirements are (1) five years of continuous residence in the U.S. after being lawfully admitted for permanent residence (three years in the case of spouses of U.S. citizens); and (2) physical presence in the U.S. for at least half of such five-year (or three-year) period.
H-1B Specialty Occupation: Representation of employers and employees in one of the most frequently used nonimmigrant employment visas. The H-1B visa is reserved for specialty occupations – to qualify, the occupation must be one that normally requires a bachelor’s degree in a particular field, the foreign worker must have such a degree (or equivalent education, training and experience), and the employer must pay the H-1B worker the prevailing wage – among other requirements.
O-1 Aliens of Extraordinary Ability: Representation of persons with extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business or athletics.
TN Professionals from Canada: Representation of employers and employees using the TN category under North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). To qualify, the Canadian worker must be coming to the United States to engage in a professional occupation included on the annex to NAFTA.
L-1 Intracompany Transferee: Representation of employers with foreign offices to transfer managers, executives and specialized knowledge employees to work in the United States.
E-1/E-2 Treaty Trader/Treaty Investor: Representation of individuals and/or companies engaged primarily in trade with the treaty country (E-1) or nationals of a treaty country who have made a substantial investment in the United States (E-2).
R-1 Religious Workers: Representation of not-for-profit religious organizations and religious workers in obtaining R-1 Religious Worker status.
Representation of employers and employees to obtain permanent residency through employment opportunities in the United States.
This includes: First Preference priority workers, Second Preference advanced degree professionals/persons of exceptional ability, Third Preference – professionals/skilled/other workers and Fourth preference – special immigrants including religious workers.
